Cover Letter

I don't agree with everything that the site says. I don't agree with the idea to add a postscript to it. This seems like it would make your cover letter less professional. I also disagree with the idea of adding testimonials to your cover letter. It seems like you should not include what others say about you when you are trying to show your knowledge about the company. It seems like you should just have a place for your recommendations included with your resume. I think it also wouldn't be a good idea to have an entire testimonial serve as your cover letter. I think the best advice it gives is to make sure it is specified to the job and person that will be reading it. I can see how it would be a bad idea to send out the same cover letter to multiple jobs. You want it to seem like you specifically want the job you are writing for, and a mass letter will not do that.

Client Visit

I'm looking forward to working on this project the rest of the semester. I think it is great what they are trying to do, because in today's society we do make a lot of decisions that aren't very healthy. I think one good idea would be to get the nutritional facts about what is served at the dining halls better displayed. I looked and saw that there is a book of the nutritional information when you walk in, but no one takes the time to look at it. If the information was displayed where the food is served, I think more people would pay attention to it. Things are going well in the group. Everyone has been willing to participate and is getting along well. Right now I don't have any questions about the project.

Interview Mistakes

I agree with the article. I think all these mistakes would be fairly big in an interview. I think people have made bigger mistakes in interviews than some of these, but these mistakes are probably far more common. I have never had an interview. I think the biggest thing people can do to have a successful interview is just try to relax. I think if you are too uptight going into the interview, you are going to be too nervous and not be able to portray yourself in the right light. Other than trying to relax, I think practicing like the article says will help. If you can think about some of the answers you will give, it will make the interview much easier.

Sports Randomness

I'm really into sports. If people play it, I'll watch it. I played a lot of sports as a kid, and my love for pretty much every existing sport has flourished ever since. This weekend I added 3 events to my list of "must go there/see" in my lifetime.
The first place I just added is Scottsdale, Arizona. The reason: the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. I watched some of the coverage on this hole. It is like no other hole in the world. The tournament has put grand stands all around this short par 3 and made it into their own "stadium". I read a couple blogs on ESPN.com from writers who were there and instantly texted my brother saying that he should check it out. From everything that I read and watched, this is a hole that has an atmosphere in golf like no other.
The second place is to a Super Bowl site. I really want to go to a Super Bowl in my lifetime. I think if my Falcons ever make it, I will have to go. I am a big football fan and I think going to a city and experiencing all of the activities that lead up to the Super Bowl would be a must for me. Call me if you ever get tickets though.
The last thing that I added this weekend is to see Rafael Nadal play. Ideally, I want to see him play against Roger Federer. I watched their Australian Open final today, and I was absolutely blown away. I've watched both these guys play a lot on tv, but it seemed like today both of them raised their play to another level. It was amazing to watch these two guys hit powerful precise shots over and over. It just made me really wanna see both these guys play.

Ten Years From Now

Ten years from now I would like to be coaching somewhere. I would like to either be at a big youth club, or at a college somewhere. Ideally I would like to be living in a big city. I haven't gotten the chance to have the city experience yet, so I would like to have that opportunity. In my personal life, I do not know if I would like to be married yet. I don't think marriage is something that you can just plan. I would like to have a close knit group of friends. I have always had a small close group of friends and I would like for this to continue. I know when you first begin coaching that you are not paid very well. I would probably not be living the ideal lifestyle I want, but this will lead to better things in the future for me.

The Machine is Us/ing Us?

I think the title of the video is just referring to how the machine (the internet) is really whatever we want it to be. It is now possible for us to do anything we want on the internet; so in a sense we are the internet. Web 2.0 has a big effect on both people entering the workforce and those already in the workforce. For those who are entering the workforce, knowing how to use web 2.0 is a valuable tool. Technology is a huge part of today's society and being technologically savvy is very important. People in the workforce must constantly stay up to date on knew technology coming out. It is very important for people not to fall behind with technology. I think the video means that we have to rethink everything, because technology is constantly changing how we do things. The things we do today are extremely different from things we did 20 years ago and they will continue to change dramatically in the next 20 years.

About Me

My name is Keegan Priest and I am a sophomore here at Clemson. I am an economics major. I am from a small town called Saint Simons Island in Georgia. I've played soccer since I was 4 years old and have always loved it. During high school I played for a club team in Atlanta, which meant that I had to travel about 5 hours every weekend. Soccer has given me great opportunities throughout my life, including the chance to travel to many different countries. Now I am lucky enough to play soccer for Clemson. Other than soccer, I like to just hang out with friends and have a good time.
